Eye shadow

Post by cindyg »

Does anyone subscribe to Quiler's Home magazine? I have an old issue that I'm looking thru and there's an article that says "The Cheaters'
Guide to Quilting Color" and it suggests looking at the eye shadows, the ones with 4 to 6 colors in it - they are color co-ordinated. The month before that it was suggested that we go to our Home Depot or Lowe's and get the paint pamphlets. They also show co-ordinating colors. This is for the quilters who are a little afraid of choosing quilt fabrics. I think I'm going to subscribe to this magazine. Any thoughts?

I just recently subscribed and really like it cuz there's more in there than patterns for quilts, there's discussions about all kinds of stuff.

I got one issue and on me it was wasted. Guess I am too traditional for it. The issue I got only had 3 or 4 patterns in it and I didn't care for any of them. I suggest you buy a couple issues at the store to make sure it is for you.

However they were nice when I called to cancel and so far haven't received any more.

It's definately not your traditional quilt magazine. I've bought several, but haven't gotten the last one or two. Definately don't buy them for the patterns - although I have a friend who loves the patterns. But our style is comepletely different.

So definately buy a few to make sure you like it before subscribing.

The paint samples are free...you can bring them home...eye shadow is spendy...

Just my 2 cents!

I've read a few issues of this magazine. I don't care for it. The articles are written in what I call flip writing. Just not my style.

CaroleJ - I wouldn't buy all that eye shadow. I'd just look at color combinations, write down the ones I like, and be on my way.

Thanks for the info on the magazine. I think I will try to find another one to buy before I subscribe. I tore out one pattern for my "to-do-someday" notebook and there was only one other pattern in there and I didn't care for that one. There was several articles that I did like so I'll have to do more research. Thanks.
