Finally Finished Scrap Maple Leaf started on 911

I just finished this quilt 20 minutes ago. I started cutting the pieces out of scraps the very morning right when the towers were hit. I was cutting them out while watching the TV. I put the quilt away because I always remembered 911 every time I looked at it. A few years ago I started to put the quilt together and then hand quilted the leaves. I just finished the last leaf today and finished it up. The leaves are not sewn even. It was my first attempt at a pieced quilt other than squares. But it is good to take to the cabin.

javin, I like your quilt a lot. I want to start a maple leaf this fall and I have my leaf fabric but not the background. What size are your leaf blocks? I think the one I am going to do has 6 inch leaf blocks. I am trying to figure out how much background fabric to buy. It is just a single block pattern that I have.
