I need to know what size to make my HST for a 3 1/2" pinwheel block. Any idea? Would they be 2"?
Brain isn't working right today or I'd figure it out myself. Have had a headache for 2 days now.

Jan

Yes, the finished block should be 3 1/2". That's the size of the unit I need, allowing for the 1/2" seam on either side (that always confuses me)

Jan, I always cut my squares 1" larger than the "finished" square for HST. They say 7/8" but I prefer to trim a little rather than be short.

Do Thangles come in 3-1/2" finished size? If you don't run out and buy Thangles, then cut your fabric 7/8 - 1" larger (for you cut 4-1/2" squares) and then do your thing. Trim to 3-1/2".

I got my HST done. I'll post a pic later as this is part of a round robin and is a secret for now.

They would be 2 inch squares.
