Well I broke my own rule for a while and did not get a needles worth of thread sewn for a long time... UFO sit in the corner and laugh at me...

Well I am getting even with them with a vengeance...I caught up on both of my BOM quilt and now have enough of them to make a quilt... I am going to use MARGRET MILLER's SMASHING SETTING to inspire me to make a contemporary setting for my blocks.

I also think I am going to put some RHAPSODY (Ricky Timms) style border on the block... still thinking about it.

I finished binding the quilt my daughter made after two months... just in time too ...... because it is getting cold outside ( 20 to 30 degrees.)

I played with some of my stain glass blocks... I almost have enough to start putting them together with the sashing.

UPDATE:
I finished it just a while ago.

I have the quilt finished and I am working on quilting. I hope to finish it after work tomorrow.

I started a toddler bed quilt for my great neice, she is my birthday twin! I have the blocks ready to lay out and sew together.

I am working on a queen Lover's Knot. It is for a young woman at church who just graduated with her Master's Degree. I have, in November, completed a black and white queen size Yellow Brick Road for a young woman who will graduate with her Bachalor's in Elementry Education in December, and a yellow and blue queen size Tossed Nine Patch for a young woman who just bought a house. No wonder smoke has been coming from the sewing room!

Finished binding a quilt my DD made for her baby... poor thing needed something to keep him warm and this bad NONNIE had two quilt tops that need quilting...

I finally bit the bullet and tried machine quilting the first quilt myself with some success. I am going to do some techniques I had not tried before... READ THE machine quilting book... FOOL PROOF QUILTING BY MARY MASUTA... had some great patterns in it... easy to do if you followed the directions... here I have been scared of machine quilting... it was easier then I thought.

I got the quilt top finished and the backing is in the washer.

I have the Lover's Knot about 3/4 done. I was off today and that is all I did! I would like to finish this one before Christmas if I can.

Christmas is using up all my sewing time...

Still working on my borders for my GS farm quilt. I took two panels and am surrounding the farm related panes with picket fences on one side and a barb wire fence ( thread play ) on the other side. It is fun experimenting with different techniques with out doing an entire quilt. I am basically making up my design as I go along.

The Lover's Knot is finished and I have taken time to clean the sewing room. I am going to catch up on the mystery 9-patch before going on to the next project.

The Lover's Knot quilt is quilted, trimmed, binding sewn on, now it is ready to sew the second side.

Lover's Knot is finished, sewing room cleaned and on to the next project. I am making a red/white/black twin size quilt to for a local Special Olympics team. It is ready to pin, and I hope to start that tomorrow after church.

I FINALLY got the quilt pinned! I am waiting until Jan 1 to start the quilting, I'm off that day, so I can spend most of the day working on it.

Happy 2009

Thank you Ladyrags for that large bit of inspiration - I have a Catapiller quilt on the frames to finish for my little grandson. I have a new longarm machine and frame and I am scared to death to use it - but I will !!! Thanks again and I am glad that I found this site and joined
