I finished appliqueing a Sunbonnet Sue square today. I think I have 3 more to go. Will probably work on them this week while at Indy.

I actually finished the hand sewing of the binding on the third quilt last night and continued hand quilting a table runner. I did a little more than one thread while watching Grey's Anatamomy. Cindy, I also really enjoy that show!

I haven't managed to sew today, but I'm closer to being able to do some. The fabric for the back and borders is washed and pressed for the quilt I'm working on now. Now to cut and sew them. I haven't sewn for months and I had to "find" my daughter's machine; the table was piled high with junk.

That is exactly the idea... working daily on a project will get your progress but carving that 10-15 minutes a day to work on a project can be the hardest thing to do.

This week I have literally just sewed one thread worth each day but I ended up with a finished block for my BOM. I also have put together half of a quilt by just sewing one line of blocks on point each day.

Today being Saturday I went to my BOM with all my blocks completed ready to start on this next block. I was the only one in the group that could show ALL THE BLOCKS DONE.

I am also planning to work on getting my quilt top pieced together while DH watches UofM beat MSU. Then he has to take me out to dinner.

UPDATE:

I got the blocks cut and the vertical rows sewn and half of the horizontal rows sewn. Now it is time for a shower and bed, my 4:45 wake up time is telling on me! I will finish this part after church tomorrow.

This morning before work I got some strips pressed ready to be re-cut into the correct size blocks. I will go and cut at least a couple this evening before shower and bed.

Have a great one.

I mananged to get two sewing sessions in today. Woke up about 4:45 and couldn't get back to sleep, but wasn't awake enough to do anything but read. When I finally got going, I finished sewing all the pieces to my 4-patch strippy quilt. Now I've got to cut the striped pieces which I'm puttng between the pieced sections. I've tossed the whole thing back into the UFO bucket since I don't want to mess w/cutting it right now. Don't worry - I'll get back to it soon. Then this afternoon I spent several hours with a group of friends sewing. I'm about 1/3 of the way through the blocks for my pink & brown CW quilt with the 'ugly' fabric.

I THINK I SHOULD HAVE STAYED IN BED YESTERDAY !!! Embarassed

I ended up not having enough fabric to cut out enough setting triangles for my on point setting. I had to piece several of them. I then sewed a small seam in several of my other setting triangles so it would look like it was a design element. I alternated the "pieced' triangle and the plain correct triangle around the quilt.

It worked out okay unit I was trying to square up my triangle and whacked off a big hunk .... so I ended up piecing that back on... ( THANK GOODNESS I HAD CUT EVERYTHING BIG SO I COULD FUDGE IT !) I had to do the same WHACKING OFF to the other side. I was going to let it be plain but it kept drawing my eye to the goof..... Believe me a learned a lot yesterday OF WHAT NOT TO DO IN FUTURE QUILTS.

I need to not get so far a head of myself. Not so fast with the rotory cutters... Then maybe I will do my quilting correctly.

Good Sunday morning to all. This morning I woke up early and had plenty of time before getting ready for church.

I got the horizontal rows all sewn, a framing border all done, and the border all pressed and ready to be sewn after church and lunch.

I got the border on and pressed, but I had to go and get 2 1/2 yards more fabric for the backing. That makes me mad at my self when I do that! This is a couch quilt that I started last Monday and I really do hope to start sandwiching it on Monday.

I have the quilt on the kitchen table ready to pin. I will start pinning before work tomorrow.

See you later.
