One box in the mail today, containing 2 stockings (2 because DH wanted me to make one for him to donate) and some stuffings. Should arrive Thursday.
Thanks so much for doing this project, Marcia.

swtsarahjane- I received your 4 stockings today. My students loved the pine needle printed fabric that had the 'silver glitter' (as they called it)! The ornament printed fabric you had used for the backing was gorgeous. Thank you for taking the time to sew up some stockings for this project ('cause I know you are one very BUSY lady right now as you try to help out with the swaps).
Next Tuesday (on Veteran's Day) is when my students and I will present the boxes filled with items to share with the service men & women....as well as the stockings that were sewn up and donated. These soldiers are going to receive some really WONDERFUL "Care Packages"!
Thank you, thank you, thank you! ~Marcia
PS On Nov. 11th I will draw the name of one lucky winner. This gal will receive a beautiful stained glass piece made by Iowagal's DH (Ken). The winner will even have some input on the color Ken will use for their glass quilt block! So, good luck everyone!

Carol- just wanted you to know that I received your two stockings. My students immediately spotted the 'Smile Face' fabric! They also loved the sleigh fabrics used as the backings! The cuffs of the stockings were so patriotic and so appropriate! Also- thanks for the many items you tucked in along with your stockings (moist towlettes, emery boards, toothbrushes, toothpaste, trail mix, boxes of Christmas cards indidual packages of Kleenix, and more) The folders that held stationery sheets and matching envelopes were a clever & useful gift! Thank you!
Remember- I will draw the lucky winner on Tuesday, Ladies! Have a wonderful weekend! Hugs~Marcia

I just want to add that if you can't send stockings, cash to help pay for postage is nice, too. When I mailed the stockings to Drew's platoon in Iraq, it was well over 100 dollars.

The two swaps I'm in this month both end on the 15th, so that was what was in my mind for the stockings. Oops! And then I missed the post office on Saturday, and Tuesday there won't be any mail because of Veteran's Day (AND you are filling the stockings), so, now that it is Sunday, November 9th, should I send my two stockings anyway?

I'm glad you met your goal of 40 stockings! At least I didn't keep you from meeting your goal.
And congratulations to whoever wins the stained glass window project!
