The wait is killing me! and this is a short month......LOL and since I'm being selective, I'm not making every block and it makes it seem even longer !!!!!

Well, I made it back, but the camera is still packed. We got in about 2:15 am this morning so didn't unpack much but my hairbrush so I could go to work today. Did drive past Paduca and it sure looks desolate. There were a few lights on, though, so someone forgot to flip all the switches (LOL). Will try to get stuff unpacked tonight and at least find the camera and post picture tomorrow. Want to get it posted before new one comes out. Trying to stay caught up (trying being the operative word here)

ok, here is my 14. This is a machine embroidery applique from Dalco Home Sew. Because I already have 2 "regular" applique blocks and 1 machine embroidered block, I thought I should even it out with some more embroidery. So, I chose the flower and the hummingbird to go along with my other birds. The body, tail and wings of the bird have fabric under them as does the big pink flower and the small purple flower and the leaves.

Jo, such a beautiful block! Wow! That machine embroidery is so pretty. I'm behind, as usual! We have a village-wide yard sale this weekend, so I'm working on projects for that...next week will be "catch-up"!

My daughter, who actually owns a sewing machine and does know how to sew was over at my house and saw the blocks on the design wall and asked if I was going to have the quilt done in time for the Toys for Tots drive. She works at a local bar here and they do the Toys for Tots party every year and she has been asking for a couple of years if I would make and donate a quilt to be raffled off. Well, she just called me again and asked if I was going to be able to have the quilt done because she wants it to raffle it off. So I guess this quilt will have a new home around Christmas time and tots will have lots of new toys. Better get busy and work on the layout so when the last block is done, I can get it stitched and quilted and donated.
