Well, I am finally getting back to this sew along. Here is my Green Mountain Star. While time consuming, it was not as hard as I thought it might be. On to my Prairie Queen and then back to the applique.

Oh, Denise!!! My goodness, that is gorgeous! I am like you!! I have had to learn all on my own, too, without a guild or anyone. It takes much longer that way, too. Encourgement is so important..you're never really sure if what you're doing is right either! lol! I think that's why I'm so amazed at the different looks with the same block...
These sew alongs have taught me so much...I had never really tried different blocks..just whole quilts. It is so much fun!
Ruth, that fabric is beautiful..what a shame to run short!
Boy, Wesig what a nice job! All those points and matching drove me nuts..I really need to keep practicing though.. The center fabric is cool!!
If tomorrow is rainy, maybe I'll get going in the sewing room!! Seeing all the blocks makes me inspired!!

Valerie, your prairie queen block is beautiful. nice colors! nice points! :-)

Joanne, I agree with you, it's much longer to learn by yourself. Don't know if you do it right, or would need someone to show you how to do it an easier way... it's same for me. With the swaps, the sew-a-longs, mystery quilts, I've learn new technics that I didn't know I was able to make. If I wouldn't have joined QIAD, I'd be still making same patterns. I am grateful to the forum and to all!

I'm baaacccck! LOL Gee, have I missed a lot or what?!?!?! I've been making the blocks when I have time and just need to start, #'s 12, 13 & 14....

Everyone's blocks are absolutely breath-taking. I sure do enjoy seeing all the different color combinations and wonderful workmanship. It's very inspiring.

Guess I'd better go start one of the blocks. Hmmmm, it's late, so maybe I'll go with the Prairie Queen and work on the GM Star tomorrow. My brain tends to turn off this time of night. ROFLOL

I have my block 14 applique done, just forgot the camera to post a picutre. We are leaving at 6:00 tomorrow morning for Talledaga and will not be back until Tuesday so hopefully I can post the picture then. Camera is packed so that is why I forgot to bring it to work with me.
