I was killing a bit of time today and noticed that sewcarol had posted a question under the nesting seams together tip. She's newer to quilting and is wondering if there is an easier way to do the feathered star. Anybody know? Is this a pattern El has done?
sewcarol, I looked at the Quilter's Cache site to see what the block looked like. Does that method look any easier than the one your pattern uses? Hang in there--hopefully someone will have some advice for you!

This is a great way for a beginner to make complicated quilt patterns. I didn't see a feathered star but many others like Mariner's Compass, Lone Star, Double Wedding Ring, and more.
