Re: Lock hooking work
I watched utube and the demo, Sewbug, and that is exactly what I was talking about. I bought the webbing for it at Joann Fabrics by the yd. Still have most of the yd left as I said before, I only did a pot holder. Maybe someday I will give it another try. Marge

Re: Lock hooking work
I want to make a pillow top for my DD using satin ribbon. I'll use crochet cotton thread as the locking thread.

Re: Lock hooking work
I am really having to use all my self-control not to start ripping 1" fabric strips so I'll have them ready when my order comes. BUT I have to get Twin Sisters quilted and off the frame before my BFF comes over and sees it. DARN!!!!! I'm so excited I found this (thanks to Sewbug and Lou) that I'm just beside myself.

Re: Lock hooking work
I'm in the process of doing a locker hooked rug. It is a lot of fun and it is a good way to use up scraps and ugly fabrics!! It is quite easy to do. Let me know if you have any questions and I'll try to help.

Re: Lock hooking work
Hobby Lobby had the locker hook needle and mesh last time I looked. The rug mat that keeps rugs from slipping is good mesh and sometimes it's a lot cheaper then the mesh off the bolt.

Thanks Redsaltbox - I sure might have questions. Where are these needles at Hobby Lobby? I looked there back last November and couldn't find them and couldn't ask for help because I didn't know what they were called. I looked by the latch hook rugs and at the crochet hooks - nada.

On the package of the one I have it says 6 1/2 inch locker hook tool. I got mine at a quilt show. We do not have a Hobby Lobby here so I can't help with that.

Well, I'm waiting for my order to arrive. I'm anxious! I'll look again for the supplies at Hobby Lobby. At least now I can be specific about what I'm looking for.

Re: Lock hooking work
I went to Hobby Lobby store today. The locker hooking needle has been discontinued from the store as well as all the locker hooking kits. The lady working in that section said Hobby Lobby was not going to carry different brands of anything anymore. They will stick with one brand for one thing, like the Clover brand. DMC for floss, etc. Most of the needlepoint/crossstitch kits were scaled down to almost nothing. There use to be two long aisles full of beautiful kits.
