Post by julyquilter56 »

I have several feedsacks that I have collected over the years, I was thinking of using them in making a quilt, but I am having don't think I have the heart to cut them up. Any suggestions??? I don't really won't to get rid of them.

Wow! I would have a hard time cutting them up too!

What are the dimensions?

Take a look in the photo section and see swtsarahjane's summer porch quilt. It's titled "My second quilt from El's book."

Or a Sun Bonnet Sue quilt. Have each dress be a different fabric.

You need something to showcase those feedsacks! They're gorgeous!

Wow what a wonderful collections. I had always thought of the feed sacks in more pastel colors. I did not know they came in such bright colors and beautiful patterns. You are very lucky to have such a great collection. I bet a tossed nine patch would be a good use for some of the pieces.

I am currently making a double wedding ring quilt from my feedsacks. Anything left over will be used in making aprons in the 1930's style.
Let us know what you decide to do!

Where did you get feedsacks? Isn't that what they used to make clothes out of back in the day? Very cool
