UFO sewing space

Post by busylady » Sat Aug 30, 2008 6:44 am

This is a true under construction sewing space!

Image

This addition will include a garage, sewing room, and bathroom. We have added more insulation, plumbing for heat, and are starting on the electrical. My DH and I do all of the work.

The construction has not stopped me. I turned my bedroom into a sewing room.

My little sewing space is good for me. The shelf holds whole quilt projects.

My under the bed system hold my fat quarters and 1/2 yard pieces. The boxes are sorted by colors, themes, or same just different colors. I have a box for crafts, a small box for left over binding and unused blocks, a box for cut up scraps in squares, a basket for the pieces that get thrown over the shoulder, and a box for tiny pieces to pack gifts in for quilters. Nothing is waisted

You ARE - and will continue to be - a BUSYlady!! But it will be SO WORTH IT!!

My DH and I did the same thing about 3 years ago, and I am so happy in my new, roomy sewing space!

Have fun with it - even when you are itching from the insulation!!

You are a person after my own heart.... I have an under the bed system too!! Also an in / and on top of dresser-- in my living room is the cutting area, where fabric waits to be either strips or squares:) Luckily I live alone so I can do what I want:)

I think your new room will def. be a fabulous place for you. Well worth the work & wait. My DH & I always do the work ourselves and yep we have heated discussions and tense moments but we git 'er done and are usually proud of it at the end. It feels so good when you're finished to say "We did this ourseves!" We love it. I can't wait to see your pics after you are all settled in. You are probably never going to want to come out of your room. That is okay too. LOL Looks like you have a lot of neat stuff.

Hugs & Love
