The quilt that you said reminded you of Inka's...the yellow, green, and bright blue squares...does anyone know the pattern??? What is a "turn back"? It looks like a big flower and the outside petals are curved...that is so cool!

Thanks so much for showing us these quilts. They are beautiful. I love the turn back quilt - it's amazing. But I really really love the first quilt. And it would be pretty simple to make. Anyway, thanks again for posting the pix.

I am soooo envious! I love Kanab...what a beautiful little town! Been wanting to go to their quilt festival since I learned of it last year. Maybe next year? We love road trips and I love Utah, so it would be a winner all 'round for me.

I love the 1930s flowers because i am addicted to strictly traditional quilts.
Thank you for sharing the photos.

I really like the first quilt. Glad you elaborated on the term "cheater quilt". You would think something like that would not be allowed in a quilt show.

Re: Western Legends Quilt Show
This quilt show is just a little part of the Festival. The main theme is seeing the actors/actresses from the old western shows. This year Clint Walker, Hugh O'brien, Peter Brown, Johnny Western, Robert Horton, Ed Faulkner and lots more. Kanab was one of the major areas that films & shows were filmed in during the 50's and 60's. I guess a portion of a new film was done up there earlier this year. I think I was told it was a sci-fi film.
The quilt that was 'peeled back' does have areas that are peeled back and it forms an arch in that area. Inka has done many of them, but she is more precise. This quilt had uneven stitching & just looked like it was done in a hurry. I don't think these types of projects can be rushed.
