Western Legends Quilt Show

Post by CoyoteQuilts » Mon Aug 25, 2008 3:59 pm

Here are some of the quilts at the quilt show in Kanab, UT. DH & I went to the WL festival & they always have a quil show. Overall, I was not impressed. There were a lot of cheater quilts there. 2 years ago the rage was the stack & whack quilts. This year there were only a couple, which I did not take a pick of.
Here are a couple made with 1930's fabrics:

These were scrap quilts:

This one reminded me of Inka, it's a turn back, Inka's is much better:

These were the old quilts on display, I should have asked how many yo-yo's went into the yo-yo quilt:

This was last years quilt for the raffle which some of the stars signed. This years quilt did not even come close to this one.

This is the wall hanging I voted for. Simple, colorful and well done:

I'm going to check & see if these will post and get back with more.

These were interesting photos. Does the first quilt pattern have a name? I like it. I am not familiar with the term cheater quilt, what does that mean?

I have no idea what the name of that quilt is. It looks like 2 different strips put together. One a 9 patch type. The other just 3 fabrics sewn together. If you would like me to figure out the pattern PM me & I'll play with it. I like this one also.

A 'cheater' quilt is a piece of fabric that has the blocks, triangles, and sashing pre printed on the fabric. All you have to do is layer it, quilt and bind.

Hope that helps.

Beautiful quilts!!!!! I love the wall hanging that you voted for too. The one with the Butterflies? Gorgeous. I really like that first quilt too. I think I have seen that pattern packet at the LQS here. Thank You for sharing the beautiful quilts.

Great quilts! I like the 2nd one the best, but I'd be happy to have any of them. The wallhanging is really cute with the appliqued butterflies. And it's always interesting to see vintage quilts. Thanks for sharing!

I see I am not alone in womdering what the first pattern is called. If someone figures it out I also would like the name of it.
