Debbie Lynn and others, looking at the Target sale flyer...they have cabinets on sale this week, the white veneer ones meant for closet organization...could use one or two as a base for a worktable.

This is a good time to shop for home dec and home organization items; college students need stuff for dorm rooms so it's all on sale.

Unfortunately, I don't have a closet for fabric at the moment. I will have one in the new house, though, a decent sized walk-in closet. I have lots of brainstorming ahead to get things set up "just so" in my own little corner of the world!

Carin, trust me, you need one:) I ironed a backing for a quilt today and oh my...what a treat. No pointy end of the ironing board, a very stable flat surface. I love it. The cabinet base I have is 36 inches high which is exactly the height of an ironing board. So it worked out perfect. I looked at a lot of the organizers but finding the right combination of depth and height was not easy. The rails underneath the big board are 16 inches apart and I wanted to fill up as much as possible for stability. The depth of the cabinet is 15 inches. On the Big Board, I told DH it was the best present I ever told him to buy me. LOL :) He's very proud of himself and I don't know why. hahaha

I have been using my " big board" for 24 years. My husband got me a piece of plywood 24 x 48. I padded it and covered it. I using it on my ironing board till we moved. I now have two, three draw ,cabiners from Walmart one under each end. They are on casters and can be moved, pluss I have 6 drawers to put my overflow statsh. I had never heard of ' big board' untill now.

I LOVE my big board. I have one of those extra wide ironing boards and was able to order a big board that fits on it perfectly. It's stable and is easy to fold up when I need the space.

I really think these Big Boards are worth their weight in Gold. DH ironed a backing for me and he immed. thought I needed one. LOL Sure easier than on a reg. ironing board. And on a cabinet like Michelle's it would be even more sturdy plus you get extra storage. I may have to look into that. Hmmmmm. Thank You for sharing Michelle. Tell DH he did good. lol

thnat looks lovely. I don't have room for that but since the big board is portable it looks like it would sit on my breakfast bar....hmmmm

CaroleJ my sewing room also doubles as our guest room. I have the bed raised and have underbed storage boxes :)
