One is to have the Fabrics what you join in a swap. alot time laides have in their stash. Some swaps you have to have Quilter shop fabrics. You have to go look at each swaps and see what you like to join and do. You have to have selfevlopes with you address and perpaid to have it send back to you. Im sure someone else can tell you more better then i did. Sarah

Hi meagsmom, I haven't seen your name before so welcome if you are new! There are no pre-requirements to join a swap if that's what you mean. I have seen that before on other forums, but not on here. The instructions of each swap will be listed on top of each swap thread and if you are interested in that particular swap then just post that you would like to sign up. We'd love to have you participate. There are a few that are still open to sign ups so jump in to any you think you would enjoy.

Swaps for blocks and fabrics really are a great deal of fun. Fabric swaps are a wonderful way to get a great assortment of fabrics and I use the block swaps as a way to challenge myself to try something new. As sadiedaisy said each swap lists the requirements and then you just join. It is really low stress here. If you look at the postings you will see that we are all supportive and encouraging. Many of us have been quilting for a short time while others are more experienced which makes it a great place to ask questions, experiment and learn.

jump in we love new friends!

You just read about whatever swap your interested in and if it suits your fancy, you sign up!! It's very very fun and you get to make great friends. I think it's also very thrifty. The Noodle Swap is an entire jelly roll PLUS about 20 extra for the price of shipping if you shop your stash. Just make sure you can fulfill your swap obligation, that said-I forgot one awhile back and had to stand in the corner, lol! Amie :o)

Meagsmom

Welcome to our group of crazy swappers! I LOVE swappin' stuff.. it's great fun. Just jump in with both feet! I've hosted a couple and particpated in LOTS! And every time I swear I can't do another one... some one comes up with another great idea and I'm HOOKED!!

Check out the Secret Santa topic... that's an easy one to start with as you just have to "shop" for 1 person! AND you don't HAVE to make something for a gift!! Sign up deadline isn't til Aug. 31st.. PM me if you have any questions!!! We sure had great fun with it last year! I know I did!!

1--a desire to try
2--a willingness to learn
3--asking questions
4--fabric, rotary cutter, rulers, directions
5--jump in :)

Noone will bite. There will be some kidding around, some advice, lots of praise and encouragement when needed.

Welcome Meagsmom,
By all means, join some of the swaps. Great way to try out new blocks, learn about new techniques, get to know the greatest bunch of quilters, get new and different fabrics, etc . etc. Just let the hostess/host you want to join and you're in!!!!!!!!!
