Calling All You Turkeys... YIPPEE ALL TURKEYS RETURNED HOME... ALL DONE!!! :)
Okay all you turkeys out there…
I am looking for anyone interested in doing a turkey block swap… did everyone see SharonG/F posted pics of her adorable table runners? She had the cutest turkey pattern that I thought would be a perfect block for a swap… and a great way to use up some of our stashes… but I would like to have them to me by October 10th and back out to you all by the following week… so we could have them for a thanksgiving turkey quilt…
Here is the link for the pattern… take a look and see if you think it is doable… and if you would be interested post here or pm me… I think this would be a really really fun one!!!

If you could please mail them to me by October 10th that would be great... and don't forget to put a self addressed postage paid envelope for them to come back to you in the package...

Re: Calling All You Turkeys... YIPPEE ALL TURKEYS RETURNED HOME... ALL DONE!!! :)
Alina:
That is a cute pattern. Have a couple questions. The pattern shows a 8.5" and a 11.5" block - which are you using. And I'm not quite getting how you make the block. Do you cut a background - then applique the turkey on or do you make the dresden plate and then do a curved piece like you would in a grandmother's fan block?

Hey DJ... the block would be the 8" finished 8 1/2 unfinished one with his body crooked... and it is all appliqued...
How is Joshua-Tyler doing? Give him extra hugs from California!!!
Cheers!

Lori... probably a small group like 12... they are only 8 inch finished but with sashing or corner triangles we could make a nice size... I know there are a ton of swaps going on... I am in most of them... LOL... And it is a short notice deadline but I just saw Sharon's tablerunner posted and thought it would be REALLY cute...
It might not get enough interest this quick... but I am an optimist... LOL!
Cheers!

Alina, For anyone interested, I made the Dresden 'tail' ala El style. If you have any of her books with a Dresden Plate in it, the directions are probably there. In case you don't, here's what I found online from her Egg Money Quilts.
