Re: Question about Minkee
Hi Cindy, I do what you do, I always load my quilt on longways(if I just have 1). That way I can quilt it in half the time
) I'm sooo lazy! Yes, I really am, lol! I've got my frame at 12', so I can load 2 on side by side and quilt them at the same time. Now how lazy is THAT??? ROTFLMAO! I only wish I enjoyed quilting it as much as piecing OR I could afford to have them all quilted by someone else. But, that ain't gonna happen so I have to suck it up and force myself to finish the actual quilting by myself

Re: Question about Minkee
Quilterbee - do you use the same thread? Surely you do or you'd be spending all your time changing it between quilts. I only have my frame set up at 8' - I don't have room to set up the 12'. I can only quilt one at a time. I don't think I could wrap my feeble mind around doing two at a time.

Re: Question about Minkee
Yes, I do use the same top/bottom thread on both. You just load your backing and batt. Then, both tops side by side, wala! I use 108" or 120" backing and W&N batt. This is how many charity quilts are done, side by side. So, in one pass you are going across both quilts, advance and make another pass across both quilts and so on. After you are done, you just take the quilt off and cut them apart. This only works on lap size or smaller. On the other hand, I don't make large quilt anyhow. Amie

Re: Question about Minkee
I just finished a baby quilt using the Minke for the backing material. I don't have a lot of experience but had no problem with the fabric. The only thing I would point out is that it is heavy and therefore very warm. It makes the quilt kinda heavy and very warm. Depending on where you live that could be good or bad.
