Re: Quilt Tops
Thank you all for the encouraging words! You really make me feel good about myself. Now, I will come clean with you all. I had surgery last Monday for an umbilical hernia and have been home recovering all week. I'm sorry for not telling you all but I didn't want a card shower or a fuss. I am better off going to the corner and licking my wounds by myself. Please don't be offended, I am just a booger when I get sick. I couldn't drive and was confined to home during the whole week so I had time, wonderful time, to sew!
I love Michele's pattern! At first I was totally intimidated by it and didn't think I would like it. I am one of those quilters who don't enjoy quilt patterns that are too intricate or take too long to complete. Michelle's Day & Night is made from strips! The key to making it come out right is to use an accurate, scant 1/4" seam. I found that even when I missed some of the matches, they don't stick out like a sore thumb, they blend in. Oh, the fabric on this quilt is red with metallic gold abstract mums and the other is gold metallic on gold. I don't usually use such "daring" colors, lol, but you really need to use 2 very contrasting colors for this quilt to really pop!
As to Lover's Knot and Day & Night the goal is to have them ready by the end of September, early October. Quilt Market and Quilt Festival in Houston is in October so both books need to be complete and ready to go then.
Thank you and love to all of you encouragers!

Oh that's no big deal....I could have surgery and whip out 5 gorgeous quilts in one week, too! ROFLOL! Honest to Pete, if I felt like a slug before, you should see me after seeing these gorgeous quilts! They are all absolutely gorgeous! But what I really want to know is....this week did you get your floors waxed and windows cleaned and oil changed in your car...or did you lay around and sleep and be lazy????!!! LOL! Linda, you are amazing, but please take care of your sweet self and pace it, we don't want you over-doing! Well DUH....I guess it's too late for that statement! LOL! Beautiful, beautiful quilts! I love the colors you chose for Littlebit's pattern...hmmmmmm, do I detect a bit of bling in that fabric????? Love it!

Linda, I love your quilts. Card Trick has always been one of my favorite patterns. I love your color choices. I would love to see the Day and Night quilt in person. I bet it really sparkles.
I understand you not letting us know about your surgery. I'm like an old bear too. I just want to curl up in my den all by myself. However, I have a DH who likes a lot of TLC when he is sick and he loves to give TLC when I am sick.
Hugs,
Geneva

Beautiful job on all of these Linda. Now I think I know which patterns to use for upcoming wedding presents for my two nephews - one wedding in July and one in October of 2009. Have to do Littlebit's pattern & the lovers knot! Hope you're feeling good & taking care of yourself.

When will Michelles pattern be avaiable? I don't know that I could do it but I sure would love to try it one day. It is gorgeous and the colors you chose Linda just makes it pop!
