I'm done with my clue #1! I'm doing three sets - two for Christmas gifts! Had to go to JoAnn's for beige fabric. I never miss a chance to buy new fabric--LOL.
My husband used to ask me what I was going to make, when I'd buy fabric. I'd say I didn't know yet..finally after he kept asking, I said fabric is like wood (he's a woodworker) you just see it and have to have it. Eventually you use it! He now understands.

Wow ! Everyone's blocks look so good.
I haven't started yet....went to Reno for the weekend, didn't get home 'til midnight last night.
I was so bummed. I looked up quilt stores and found 4 in Reno. We were with other people. The guys went golfing and the 2 other wives expected me to drive them to the movies and antique shopping(only 2 cars for the 3 couples) so I thought ok, i'll hit the quilt stores on Sun. They were CLOSED!! : ( (Guess I should have checked more than just addresses !!) I'm not much into antiques althought I did see a few quilts that were all very loved or brand new. Next year (yes this is a yearly event) I'm doing what I want first !!, then I might play nice and take them to the movies. LOL (I did see Mama Mia and it was good but I would rather have been fabric shopping!)

So now I have no new fabric and I'm behind everyone but tomorrow I'm going to the nearest quilt store (1 hour away) and buy some new fabrics. I may have something in my stash but I was looking forward to shopping somewhere other than Joann's which is all I have in my town.

I will post pictures when I get mine done. I'm so anxious to see what pattern it will turn out to be!

Love,
Ruth

Redsalt - pretty blue!! I wish I had a digital camera...
Sarah - I'd love to do more Christmas Mystery things!!!
Nothing I bought was on sale at JoAnn's...and the fabric was $8.99 a yard! When did they raise their prices???? The Victorian Quilt shop (the closest quilt shop) is closed on Sunday...

Here is my step 1-- not Christmas fabric, but it will be fun to see what it looks like in the end, anyway. The fabric the pieces are displayed on is my "dark blue" background fabric-- the blue used in my pieces is my "blue" background fabric... Am I doing this correctly? We are supposed to have *2* different blues, correct? I just wanted to make sure I'm heading in the right direction! :-)

Thank you, Sarah. :-) I'm totally in the dark as to what this is going to look like-- but that's what makes a Mystery so much fun!!!
