This year the mystery comes in three parts. You can choose to start as soon as one clue is up, or wait until all the three clues are given and the mystery is solved.
I can tell you this much: When the Mystery is solved, it’ll measure about 12"x 35".
Before we start with this three part mystery, you will have the chance to choose fabric and start the cutting to be ready for the first part.

This will give you a ideal on what kind of fabrics. It dont have to be same prints just the colors need to be.
In your pattern, "ca" means "aproximately" and "nr" means "number".

Mystery clue 1
1. Use a pencil and draw a diagonal line (fig.1) on the wrong side of
2 light gray squares 5”x 5”,
1 orange square 3” x 3”, and
2 yellow squares 3” x 3”.
2. Pair the squares from nr. 1 together with blue (background) squares with the same size, right sides together:
2 light gray squares 5”x 5” together with 2 blue (background) squares 5”x 5”,
1 orange square 3” x 3” together with 1 blue (background) square 3” x 3”, and
2 yellow squares 3” x 3” together with 2 blue (background) squares 3” x 3”.
3. Sew ¼” on each side of the diagonal line (fig.2).
4. Cut on the line, open up and press the half-square triangle block (fig. 3).
5. Trim the large blocks to 4 ½” x 4 ½”.
6. Trim the small blocks to 2 ½” x 2 ½”.

At this point you will have:
4 half-square triangle blocks with a triangle of blue (background) and light grey,
2 half-square triangle blocks with a triangle of blue (background) and orange, and
4 half-square triangle blocks with a triangle of blue (background) and yellow.
Put these aside and wait for part 2.
7. You will need
2 yellow squares 1 ½”x 1 ½”, and
2 orange squares 1 ½”x 1 ½”.
Arrange the pieces as shown (fig. 4) and sew the block together.
8. Make one more block like this
Now you should have 2 four-patch blocks all together.
Put these aside and wait for part 2.

For the second clue you’ll need the pieces you’ve put aside earlier:
9. You will need
1 four-patch block from nr. 8,
2 half-square triangle blocks 2 ½” x 2 ½” with a triangle of blue (background) and yellow from nr. 6, and
1 half-square triangle block 2 ½” x 2 ½” with a triangle of blue (background) and orange from nr. 6.
10. Arrange the pieces as shown (fig. 5) and sew the block together.
11. Make one more block like this
You should now have 2 blocks as shown in fig. 5.
12. You will need
1 blue (background) square 4 ½” x 4 ½”,
2 half-square triangle blocks 4 ½” x 4 ½” with a triangle of blue (background) and light grey from nr. 5 and
1 block from nr. 10.
13. Arrange the pieces as shown (fig. 6) and sew the block together.
14. Make one more block like this.
Now you should have 2 blocks as shown in fig. 6.
15. You will need 2 beige squares 2 ½”x 2 ½”.
16. Use a pencil and draw a circle with a 1 ½” i diameter (fig.7) on the right side of the fabric.
17. Before you cut these circles out, you have to decide which method for appliqué you would like to use.
Use a pair of scissors and cut the circles out, - and add seam allowance if your appliqué method asks for that.
18. Appliqué 1 circle onto each of the 2 blocks from nr. 14 (fig. 8).
Wait for part 3 of the mystery.

Take your time when you are doing this one. When you get the star done and you are ready to put it all together take your time. If you need help im here to help you. Have fun.
19. You will need
8 yellow squares 2”x 2”.
Draw a diagonal line with a pencil on the wrong side of the 8 squares (fig. 9).
20. You will need
1 blue square 3”x 3 ½”.
Place 1 yellow square 2”x 2” on one corner of a blue (background) rectangle, right sides together.
21. Sew on the diagonal line (fig. 10).
22. Open up and press the triangle towards the corner (fig. 11).
23. You will need
3 blue rectangles 3”x 3 ½” and
3 yellow squares 2”x 2”.
Place each of the yellow squares in the same corner as in nr. 20 and do as told in nr. 21
and nr. 22.
You should now have 4 blocks with a yellow triangle in one corner as shown in fig. 11.
24. You will need
4 yellow squares 2”x 2” and the
4 blocks from nr. 23.
Place each of the yellow squares onto the blocks in one corner, right sides together, so that the two triangles meet on the 3 ½” side of the rectangle when done (fig. 12).
Sew and press as mentioned under no. 21 and no. 22.
25. You will need
1 orange square 3 ½” x 3 ½” and
4 blue (background) squares 3” x 3”.
26. Arrange the pieces as shown (fig. 13) and sew the star-block together.
27. You will need
2 blue (dark background) squares 7”x 7”.
28. Cut the squares diagonal (from corner to corner) to get four triangular pieces (fig. 14).
29. You will need
1 blue (dark background) square 12” x 12”.
30. Cut the squares diagonal (from corner to corner) twice to get four triangular pieces (fig. 15).
31. You will need
2 angel-blocks from nr.18 and
the star-block from nr.26,
the small triangles from nr. 28, and
the larger triangles from nr. 30.
This is where you have to decide if this will be a table-runner or a wall-quilt.
Arrange the blocks and the triangles as shown
(fig. 16).
(If you want a table-runner, the angel’s head should be towards the star-block in the middle.)

32. Sew the pieces together in rows as shown:
A. small triangle – angel-block – large triangle (fig.17)
B. large triangle – star-block – large triangle (fig. 18)
C. large triangle – angel-block – small triangle (fig. 19)
33. Sew the rows together: A to B, and B to C.
The blocks should meet in the middle.
Tip: If you want to, you can start in the middle of a row and sew towards the edges to make sure the blocks line up in the middle.
34. At last sew the two small triangles from nr. 28 to the corners of the angel-blocks in the A-row and the C-row (fig. 20)
See if you have to cut the edges to make them even, - then do so.
