:)

I had a tough time also changing the first needle.

i left you a PM about that (((Ann))

I ended up unplugging the espire and laying it on it's back to see if there was anything keeping the needle in it's place.

You can use a needle nose plyer, hemostat or sturdy tweezers to pull the needle out as straight as possible.

laying it on her back gives you also a better view of what way to face the flat part of the needle.

Next needle change goes a lot smoother after that.

Tsk Tsk Ann, you used a needle for ALL those geese plus all other projects you have been sewing. <grin> just teasing you a 'little'.

Hope this info helped other Baby El's out as well.

Stay safe with your sewing fingers.

I have been quilting my black and white quilt this afternoon. I have it about 1/4 done, it is a queen size, I am just meandering. I have to stop now to get ready for evening church services.

I am playing the piano at a church that is not mine today and looked up and saw some windows that would make a GREAT quilt block!

Have a good rest of the evening.

Yeah! That's why I thought I should change the needle!! 320 geese is a lot of stitching. But I GOT IT!! I had neglected to take the presser foot HOLDER off. As soon as I did that, it worked like a charm. The needle fell right out as soon as I loosened the screw! No tipping the machine on its back, no plyers or tweezers or anything!

So far, I LOVE this machine. It's a little different than any I have owned before, so I do have some reading to do when I attempt something that I THINK I know how to do!! Hard teaching this old dog new tricks!

* Duhhhh *

Yup, now I remember all that also Ann, forgot to take the pressure foot off.

I still can't get over it how easy this machine threads and threads the needle. the ease of the bobbin winder and how easy it is to pop another bobbin in the machine.

The instructions at a push of a button on your sewing machine screen.

LOL and the cute little guy with a tear on it's face when it' tells you something just aint right. (Like the bobbin thread running low)

I'm not done playing with this machine for a LONG time to come. :)

Not just the presser foot, but the holder, too!! Weird. I try to take shortcuts, I guess.

:)

I tend to try to take short cuts also if it is in the middle of a project I'm working on.

I keep forgetting to do a total cleaning and changing needles after a set amount of sewing hours. I heard after each quilt project to change the needle and quick sweep clean.

I HAVE to pack away my Espire before fam. comes over, hopefully I remember to put it UP cleaned and needle changed.
