Mixing fleece and cotton
Hi all
I have a small dilemna. First of all I have this terrible problem of designing quilt tops in my head. The more stress I am under the more tops I think of. The problem is they never leave my head. So sorry if this idea sounds lame but here goes.
I have a retired minister friend who saw the tied quilts for Luthern World Relief being displayed at our church. He in passing said he would like one with Cubs on one side and Bears on the other. So far the only cotton fabric I have seen would be for the Chicago Bears. I have been told they do not make major league baseball fabric.
If I were to make blocks with one side being the Cubs and Blue and red fabric and the back with squares with Bears and orand and blue fabric could I still interject a fleece square sewed to a cotton square here and there to get the theme of the Bears and the Cubs. I was planning on tieing this quilt and give it to him.
I just was unsure how fleece would sew to cotton. By what he said I do not believe he would want fleece on both sides as he made comment with one side Cubs and one side Bears he could use it when he watached his favorite teams.
Has anyone tried this yet????
I guess I just need to jump in and try it.
What do you experts say??????
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Try this:
http://www.hancockfabrics.com/category/ ... /4660.html
and this on the back:
http://www.hancockfabrics.com/category/ ... /4626.html
Then just tie them together and wala! you have a comfy cozie cubs/bears blanket!
As for cotton/fleece, I have not tried that one. I have made them and tied them. One year, everyone got one at Christmas! I made 16 of them!

Thanks for your help. I thought I'd get started now so I would have plenty of time before Christmas rush begins.

There is a gal I bought some St. Louis Cardinal birds machine embrodiered, she has them for most teams and she does a wonderful job. I will check and see what I can find on e-bay.

If you have a Wal-Mart in your area that still sells fabric they may have some. The next time I go I will look at the one here. I know they have AZ Diamondback cotton.
