What I'm doing with my noodles...

Post by CindyB » Thu May 22, 2008 5:34 pm

I've just got too much time on my hands right now - and I've come up with something different to use my noodles for.... I'm making an Ocean Waves quilt.

I got to thinking... how could I use my noodles from swaps differently...

Well, this is how I used them:

I took two noodles, and with the right sides together, sewed down both sides of the noodle, like this:

Then, I took my F&P Flying Geese ruler, and used it to cut out Half Square Triangles:

After cutting all of the tails off, you come up with the unit you need to make the block (or to make bear's paws, or anything with HST)!

Also - I was wondering if anyone has seen anything like this before?

I thought of this about a month ago in my dreams, but somebody else has already beat us to it Cindy :o) I can't remember what the tool and technique is called but Amie uses it all the time. It is an excellent idea!!

Thanks, everyone.... I knew that I had probably seen it someplace, but it's so much easier to make the HST this way, it's unbelievable!

Meagsmom, a noodle is long strips that you cut, exemple: 2 1/2" wide and the lenght of it is the width of the fabric.

CindyB, thanks for the tips!
