Good morning, all!

It's not quite 0500 out here on the west coast of the US. I have been up for an hour already, my morning cuppa is almost gone. Don't know that I will be able to get in any sewing today, but I need to hit the fabric store, definitely!

As soon as it's light and the family is stirring, I have some cleanup work to be done in the back yard. I am best off doing really filthy jobs first thing in the morning. That way I can get them done, have a nice shower, put on fresh clothes, and go on with the day without feeling grimy. I don't want to go out there too early and wake everyone, don't want to get the dog barking.

Hope everyone can sneak in at least a little sewing time today!

Good Morning everyone! I have a pretty busy day ahead of me. I'm getting ready to try El's new Embroidery Applique here in a few minutes. I have instructions for something similar to her's, but El's might be better. After feeding the horses, I have to doctor our injured gelding -- he is getting better, but it is going to be a long healing process.

Yesterday, I stole 2 quilts at a yard sale. One is a light weight bow tie -- some of the fabric is from the 30's/40's with a few damaged blocks and the other is a really heavy weight kind of scrappy quilt, again from the 30's/40/s in really good condition. Both are hand sewn and hand quilted. I got a section of the round pen cleaned off yesterday, so today I'm going to try and hang them up to get some pictures. Oh, did I mention I bought them $35 each? They were made by the husband's grandmother. I just way too excited about these two quilts!

After the photo shoot, I have to hook up the horse trailer and take my little 3 yr old morab and her mother for a ride. I've been trailer breaking her this past week and she is doing great, so today is the first ride. Tomorrow she is going to the horse trainer for saddle breaking, so hopefully today will go well with her.

Ya'll have a great day!!!
Happy Trails, jacquie

Man you guys are up early!!! It's 9:10am CDT here in MN and I'm still in my jammies sucking down my 2nd cup of coffee!

Yesterday I started a baby quilt for one of the young gals I work with. She's due in July and knows it's a boy. Got most of the top done, just need to add the borders today. Between finishing that and making some blocks for Cindyb, I have to finish up my laundry and ironing to get stuff ready for the work week. Those are the things I WANT to do... there's things I HAVE to do today as well. Finish paying bills, balance the checkbook, clean up the kitchen AGAIN, vacuum whole house, dust AGAIN, (it's never ending isn't it)

IF the weather warms up a little I might even go out and pull a few weeds in the garden. But right now it's only 45 here in MN and that's COLD for us in May!

I'll be checking in during the day today, as I sew a little then take little breaks.

Hope everybody has a great day!!
keep on sewing!

Got up this morning fixed breakfast (homemade waffles, bacon, sausage and scrambled eggs)and thought I would check in to see how everyone is doing. I was working on DJ's round robin medallion last night so I think I will finish that up today. I want to reorganize my sewing room but right now it looks like a bomb exploded in here, I guess it always looks worse before it gets better.

Good morning,
It is 9am and I am about to shut the computer off and go in and work on my Transformation of Jan's ugly fabric. I needed to wait until Izzy woke up because my sewing room is adjacent to her bedroom. I know she came home a little before 2 so up at 9 is early ;) she is an early riser though and usually is up by 7:30 at the latest.

My computer in my sewing room is sick so I need to get it fixed and then I can watch DVDs while I sew again. Looks like today I will drag in my laptop for that.

be back later

So far I have finished cutting my strips and squares out of all the scrap 100% cottons. I ended up with one large grocery(paper) bag full of strips and one bag of squares. Next job is sorting out the bin of fancy fabrics that I use to make purses and totes for my quilt groups yearly fundraiser. I try to make at least two purse/totes a month, they seem to be a big seller at the craft sale.
