My Second Finished Quilt

Post by Tumbleweed » Tue Apr 08, 2008 10:51 am

So after I got my first quilt done in December, I decided to have more fun. During my "delayed quilter" enrollment, I had managed to build a stash, so I gathered some red/white/blue fabrics and decided to do a rail fence. At the time I started, I had no plans for this quilt, but have since given it to my dad. He is a WW2 vet, and just loves it.

The first picture is again an in-progress picture. I sewed this as a top half, and then a bottom half, and then sewed the halves together. So the picture is showing only half of the quilt.

This second picture shows it as a friend and I were getting it started on her HQ Pro Stitcher. She was wanting to practice since the machine was fairly new, and I was more that willing to go with her free price. We used a pattern called "double hook"

Since my daughter in NYC issued a challenge to me, I now have 2 more quilts cut and in various stages of being put together. I also have a 3rd one planned but not cut yet. (Her challenge was that for each quilt I finished she would take one course toward her Masters. So far I'm ahead in the challenge.)

You did a wonderful job! How fun to be able to have a partner when you practice on a new LA. I like the "Hook" motif also. Beautiful quilt, please post the others as you make them up.
Have Fun,
