Post by quiltingangel »

Hi to all,
Does anyone know where I could find a easy pattern to make toss pillows? Thanks in advance for any help.

Do you own any Quilt in a Day books?

I know that in several Eleanor has patterns for pillows. I know for sure she has at least one in Egg Money Quilts.

Here's some websites: (I used Google with "quilt + pillow + instruction" for the search)

http://www.mccallsquilting.com/bonus/'> ... com/bonus/

http://www.wikihow.com/Make-a-Crazy-Qui ... ilt-Pillow

http://home.howstuffworks.com/quilted-p ... hannel.htm

http://www.simplicity.com/index.cfm?pag ... quilt.html

http://www.daciaray.com/?p=160'>http:// ... com/?p=160

basically, you could just take your favorite quilt pattern and make it the size that you want the pillow to be, then quilt it. Lay the quilted piece flat, face up. Lay the back of the pillow, face down. Then stitch around the edges leaving an opening, turn, stuff, and slip stitch it closed.

Or, make the back in two pieces, hemming two ends, lay the two pieces face down on the quilted piece (which is face up). Lining the raw edges of the ends of the back with the raw edges of the top and make sure the hemmed ends over lap each other in the center. Then you can stitch all the way around the edges, clip the corners, turn and you should be able to slip a pillow inside thru the slot made by the over lapped hemmed ends. I've made this one. If the you want to do this, and my instructions are confusing, I will take a picture of it and show you.
