What a cutie!
Carol we had mac and cheese tonight, too. The "no meat on Fridays" is the biggest thing I dislike about Lent. I love getting ready for Easter, though. I love the services during Holy Week, it really makes me think about my life and hopefully makes me a better person.

Oh, I don't remember if I mentioned a project I'm wanting to start or not, I haven't been on the forum much the past week or so. Anyway, my dad has always been a very generous person and still is, he gives everything to his friends. Well, I've been wanting to make little throw size quilts for the residents at his home. I got to thinking the other day and realized what I should do is make them quilts and let dad give them to them, let him play Santa because he loves doing that so much. It's just amazing their reactions to quilts. Everytime they see one they remember a quilt their mom or grandmom made for them, or have some memory about a special quilt in their lives. Quilts are such a comfort thing, and I want all of them to have a quilt. And now that I'm going to get an HQ16....Woo-hoo! I think I'm going to make the Paducah Trunk Show quilt, then start piecing a bunch of these little lap throw quilts and then when I get my HQ I'll have all those little quilts to practice on! Kill two birds with one stone.
Also, I wanted to mention, the other day I watched my QIAD Bears in the Woods DVD and had forgotten how wonderful it was! I got so inspired to make the quilt for the cabin! One wall is about 22' or 24' high and is begging for a big old woodsy quilt on it. So, I ordered the fabrics for it at the fabric frenzy today and can't wait to start working on it. Oh, I just love it, there's always a quilt to make and one to get excited about!

Tul, it's about that time here on the west coast, isn't it?
Hot dogs are on a low boil, mac'n'cheese is done, beans will just need a quick heating, throw the cole slaw and potato salad onto the counter, set out condiments and sit down to stuff--! Don't go thinking I have done anything heroic...the slaw and potato salad are from the deli counter!
Carin, I would get a lot more sewing done if this crew would take over all the cooking and housecleaning...! There I go, dreaming again...

MAW, I'm thinking a usual lap size. Although, every pattern for a lap size is a different size, so I think I'll just start making whatever strikes my fancy and have fun with it. It'd be a good way to make all these quilts I've been wanting to make and try out all sorts of patterns. I have so many wonderful QIAD books and this would be a good way to blast thru them and then be able to see which ones I want to make into full-size bed quilts later on. I'm really looking forward to doing it, too.
Sandy, your grandbaby is adorable! Those gorgeous blue eyes! And yes, I'm sure she has worn you out, she's at that energetic age! LOL!

Oh Sandy! Brianna is a doll! I love the toddler stage--I think it's a blast, even though it's exhausting!
When my eldest was two, she was speaking fluently and singing a lot; my husband and I gave her an Indian name: Princess Never Shuts Up--! No, we didn't call her that to her face...and yes, she is still a talker! Now we tell her we named her Emma after an anagram: Excessive Motor Mouth Action!

HI everyone
7:30PM Minnesota time.. I've been home from work just long enough to get into my pj's, and check my e-mail!!! Not sure I'll get much sewing done tonite.. it's been a LLLLLLLLLLLLLoooooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnngggggggggggggggg week and I'm ready to crash!! My head wants to go down and sew, but my body is not cooperating!
GP so sorry to hear about your Dad... Having seen pictures of you and him together, and working with Long Term Care patients I understand so very much how difficult it is for you! You are in my thoughts and prayers!
Baby blankies? When I was a kid we called them "dear dears" I know I don't have any of mine. My Mom knit a blue one for my oldest when I was pregnant--she was sureu it was going to be a girl--so she called it "Megan's Blue Bah" but Megan turned out to be "Shawn Thomas" Never did get a Megan, tho my sister did! (I have a Jennifer instead) I have blankies safely hidden away that my Grandmother made for my kids too! Can't bear to even part with them to give to the kids! I even have a couple pair of mittens my Grandma knit--she made the best mittens!
Well, the stomach is growling so I better go see what I can find for supper.. Maybe peanut butter toast and coco again!! That's about all I have in the house!!
Have a great evening every one... and a super weekend!
