That is so sweet! I remember my blankie from my childhood. I remember being tramatized when my mom threw it out cause it was all ratty and holey. Mom's not a quilter or a crafter. She does paint.

Hello, everyone!
Hope this finds you all well. I am getting ready to change into jammies and relax.
I took a class on "Reversible Quilts" this week. Very cool - I love the technique. I am hoping to work on the hand sewing part of it this evening. But, I can't promise - I usually get caught up reading the posts and forget to sew. LOL
Have a great evening, everyone.

Hi, ya'll! Well, I went to the office to pick up some paperwork to bring home and while I was there I spread some good cheer! I really think some of them are enjoying my reduced hours lately! LOL! I know I sure am!

DH just dropped a bomb on me, my birthday is coming up and he said he thinks it's time I finally got an HQ16! So, I am really motivated for all this spring cleaning now...starting with the bonus room where I'll be quilting! Yahoo! Plus, I can take it to the cabin and quilt up there, too! Now that it's actually going to happen, I'm getting a little nervous about the learning curve on it. Oh I'm so happy I'm getting old...it's really got some perks to it afterall! LOL!

Hi Fran! I could never throw out any of my kids blankies, esp since 2 of the 3 still use them! The middle one doesn't, he left it on the floor one day and didn't pick it up so I hide it to see how long it'd be before he asked for it back. He never did. I still have it though, to give it to hsi future wife!

That is wonderful GP! Just one more reason, besides your stash, to come for a visit. :)

GP. how is your Dad doing? I was thinking about him yesterday.

I would never throw out my kids blankets either, it helps that I made them for them so I have a personal interest. I love the fact that when I tuck in my son its with blankets I made for him so he is wrapped up in love from me.

I agree Carin. I made both of hte oes my kids still use. One is an afghan iwth Ziggy on it and the other is the quilt. DS#2's was cloth diapers that I sewed together. He loved it when he as little! He asked oce what his blankie looked like and I told him. He said "Now I know why I left it behind!" He never liked the afghans I made and he was older when I made him a quilt so he didn't get attatched the way the other two did.
