You are still going great Cindy. Good for you.
DD's quilt is back from the LA and the binding is ready, just have to sew it on. LOL All 3 of my service quilts are finished and ready to go to guild tomorrow, plus I finished the log cabin wreath.
Now I'm going to go look for Natural Splendor fabric online.

Sunsup - you are just going to town!!! Do you hand sew your binding to the back of the quilt or do you machine sew it?

Re: UFO Support Group
Just catching up, been doing more sewing than surfing.
Cindy, it depends on what I'm binding weather I hand or machine sew.
On service quilts or wall hangings, I usualy machine finish the binding. On DD's quilt, which turned out well and will be her Christmas, I hand finish the binding.
I am about out of UFOs! But a farmer who has been super nice to us..
Well, I thought I'd make him a quilt. I found and ordered fabric with pictures of tractors and farm trucks. The fabric arrived and the picture squares are only 3 1/2" square. I got 2 panels of 9 so ther are 18 squares. Now what? I'm thinking maybe some kind of log cabin.
Any and all ideas will be most welcome!

Sunsup, I think a modified log cabin with the 3 inch squares in the middle would look great!
I have a similar project in the back of my mind, a quilt for a neighbor to-be who is an angel on earth. Comes over to help out on short notice, won't take a cent of money, even for gas, for all the times he has come over with his backhoe to bail us out...my DH says that's only a fraction of what he has done for us in the past few months.
It's tough sometimes making those "guy" quilts, but Jerry more than deserves one, and probably a couple matching throw pillows as well!

Sunsup - I sure like the idea of putting the log cabin around your motifs. I'm partial to log cabins though. There are a gazillion patterns out there with motifs in the middle. The first one that comes to mind is El's Pink Lemonade which calls for 6-1/2" center squares which means your motifs wouldn't work unless you set them in another fabric to make them into 6-1/2" squares. Oh, well, back to the log cabin - LOL. Let us know what you decide.

I'm pretty sure it's going to be a log cabin. I want the colors to be green and gold like the hay fields.
Carole, your Jerry sounds like my Danny. After the second cutting of hay, and watching me and DD stack it in the barn, he came over the next day with 2 guys, hauled in the rest of the hay and had the guys stack it. Wouldn't take anything even with diesel prices being what they are. An angel on a tractor, thus the quilt. LOL

May God bless them both! I'm so looking forward to making Jerry's quilt! Haven't done a "guy" quilt in a while.
Happy stitching, Sunsup!

Wow!! You ladies have been busy. I have set aside my ufo's for awhile until I get this next craft show out of the way, which is the week before we leave for Houston. I have been working on my Egg Money Quilt blocks and have sashing strips almost finished. That will make a great spring time quilt for my queen size bed, and maybe by then I will have a quilting machine and frame to do the quilting. I am such a dreamer.LOL
