It's been a while since I've read/posted to this thread, so I just spent some time catching up.
Cindy and Busylady -- I really like both of your Jewel Box quilts.
I've been working on my UFOs/WIPs and have made tremdous progress in the last 2 1/2 weeks since I've gotten back to my sewing machine. Getting all of the UFOs/WIPs organized has made a huge difference.
I've worked a bit on everything - Orange Crush, a 5-patch baby quilt w/o a name yet, my black & white 4-patch stacked posie, the pink 4-patch strippy quilt, one of the mystery block swap quilts, my Moda U quilt, Chiclets, and Stack-N-Whack. I've also cut the fabric for a quilt that a group of my friends and I are making at our mini-retreat. Chiclets is completed, and tonight I finished sewing the blocks for the Stack-N-Whack and have the blocks sewn together in diagonal rows. I've cut the first 4 setting triangles and discovered I forgot the seam allowance when I figured what size square I needed. It doesn't look like I'll be able to fudge, so I'm going to have to recut the triangles.
While I've been doing all this sewing, I've been sewing together 2" med/dark and light squares to ultimately make 4-patches for a couple of new quilt I have perculating in the back of my mind. I'm used up all of my cut squares, so I think I'm going to cut into my 'ugly' pink and brown fabric and really get started on my pink & brown CW quilt.
Oh I knew there was something else. I've finally figured out how I'm going to finish quilting the center square of the Compass Lone Star. Now I just have to figure out if I want to do it on my sewing machine, or load it on my girlfriends new longarm when she gets finally gets it.
It's amazing what you can accomplish when the sewing room is clean and organized and you are listening to a book on CD.

Re: UFO Support Group
Not another UFO! Some of you may have read this note on another thread.
"Friday I was at walmart and picked up a quilting magazine. The trip home is 85 miles. I had the magazine read several times by the time I got home. There was a wall hanging in the magazine and as soon as I got the food put up I hit my stash to pick out all of the material I was going to use. By midnight the next day I had the top sewn."
Ya with all of the quilts I am trying to make I started a quick projects. My good friend for 30 years is making a commitment to join the church where I attend. So I have decided to make her a gift of this wall hanging. So now the pressure is on because she is making this profession of faith this Sunday.
Well I am pinning the top, batting, and backing together now. Why do I set my mind to such goals? LOL
I can't wait til I finish so I can post the picture.

Funny...sometimes the desire to finish something or make a kind gesture can really drive us on. Isn't it amazing when you get a bee in your ear how fast you can complete something?
Did the same thing myself the last 2 days: got an idea for a gift for a friend, found a pattern, purchased fabric on Wednesday, it's now sitting on the ironing board waiting to have the binding stitched down on the back. Ba dah BING!
The only problem is, since it's almost finished.....WHAT DO I WORK ON NOW?!

Re: UFO Support Group
I am about to add the binding, the sleeve, and the label to my little project. Maybe tomorrow I will take a picture and add it to the Quilt photos.
The excitement of that has given me some energy. I had a hard week at school and am ready for excitement. LOL

I cannot believe I finished the whole thing. LOL
Somehow my energy, got a big boost when I started sewing.
The picture has been added to the Quit Photos section. The title topic is Flower Wall hanging.

WooHoo! - my picnic quilt is complete. It was quilted, but I wanted to make it into a 'quillow' to make it easier to carry. To fold it traditionally (into thirds) the pillow would be way to big, so I had to figure out something else. Ended up folding the quilt into quarters, and it's still rather big (16" square). But it's done!
