I read about a Decatur knot in a book...it's a means of putting invisible ties in a quilt, using regular thread.

Can send instructions of anyone needs them...back to the guild meeting!

JudyWoo, instructions for the Decatur knot are in the techniques section, now that I am more awake. Wish I could send pictures, too!

I may be queen of the UFO projects. I recently found a wallhanging I started 40 years ago. It is not completed. May discard after all of these years. It's a rainbow and clouds...remember those?

Oh my gosh, TooMuch!! A FORTY YEAR OLD UFO--? It almost deserves its own zip code by now! LOL My mother has an afghan she has been working on (or not, mostly not) since the 1970's. It's in those shades of brown and gold that were so "in style" then. Don't know when she last worked on it, but she can't let go of it...and I doubt she will ever finish it, but that's her call.

Anyone else care to try and top TooMuch's UFO from the sixties with one of their own?

I think I have stuff in my ironing basket that dates back to the 60's. Does that count? hehehehe

I can't beat that. My oldest UFO only dates back to Sept 13, 1989. That's the day I bought the fabric for my double wedding ring which I'm still working on. Last spring I got 25 rings sewn together, but I'm aiming for 56 rings. The original plan had it finished for our 5th anniversary which was over a year away. Now my goal is our 25th anniversary (Nov 29, 2010), so I best get a move on it, as I want to hand quilt it and figure that will take me a year.
