Have you seen these???
A lady I used to know would make a quilt to fit her bed with no tuck in area, the would make a matching pillow cover to lay across the pillows .It was also quilted and bound just like the quilt. She told me this was a popular way to do it at one time, but I have never seen or heard of it. They looked very neat, and I may do that!( It was as wide as the quilt, but just covered the pillows)

I saw this on Simply Quilts one time. They are called Bed Toppers. They also said you could put them on the back of the sofa also. I will try to find the episode.

Thanks Evie. Now I remember seeing that, and yes, it's a neat idea.

Those were very popular at one time. I've made a few in my day.I find them easier to put on the bed that to use a pillow tuck because of the thickness. I put a light ruffle or sometime a pleated ruffle on mine to finish them then they look more like a sham.......

I have a book of topper patterns, haven't made one yet, but I think they are so cool! It sure would be a quick way to dress up your bed or sofa for the holidays and change them out for each holiday. Oh, so many wonderful quilts to make!
