Inka - you make such cute things. Where do you get all your ideas?

My mother would have loved this. She grew up on a farm in Virginia during the Depression and loved chickens and hens. She could never cut their heads off when asked by her parents.
Darling.
Darling.

That is cute. I like chickens too I had made some coaster with chickens, needle point on plastic and made a little basket to put them it.. use them all the time.. yours is really nice, i like it also the place mats.. My niece and I decided we are just going to make small things for a while. put them away and when next Christmas comes we have all our little gifts made.. We were going to do that last year but never got around to it.. too many baby quilts to make.. and other projects to get done... I pieced a king size quilt together for my sister in law for she said she didn't have the time.. things just kept coming up but this year we are going to do the smaller objects. I hope You did very nice work....

There is a log cabin chicken pincushion video here:

I must confess I had made a mistake constructing the log cabin (what a trivial mistake!) starting with a wrong colour as the second piece - it should have been a light, not a dark one! (I ended up with one "step" missing in the design and discarded all those four little blocks I had made in between ... grin. Isn´t learning new things exciting! Love, Inka

The small placemat is another mistake, actually - it should have been a little cosmetic bag, but - as I discovered too late - the seminole strips were to decorate the LONG, not the short edges ... well, this bag is thus another project to try again!:)
