Saturday Jan 19, 2008 sew-in

Post by mequilter9158 » Sat Jan 19, 2008 11:40 am

Hello!! How about we start the sew-in for tonight? It's freezing cold here, I'm about to head upstairs for a nice, hot bowl of potato soup that's been in the crockpot all day. What will you be working on tonight? I have to get my RR medallion done & ready to send out, so that's what I'll be busy with.

Hi, mequilter! I'm working on my French Rose blocks. Earlier today I cut my 5" charms for a couple of swaps and have those ready to get bagged and sent out.

Boy, it is brutal cold where you are! Brrrrr! I was out taking pics of our snow earlier today! LOL!

P.S. I have a plan for tonight...I'm going to chat awhile, then go sew a couple blocks and not allow myself to come back to gab until I've finished a block or two! ROFLOL!

Hi Me & GP. Had a severe reaction to meds this week, so did not get to sew nearly as much as I wanted to. I have some new BOM I bought last summer that I am SLOWLY working on, maybe I'll Give them a go. Oh, I did try out something called "Tri Recs" (?) rulers. Very cool - the blocks turned out great.
Me - it's currently 16 degrees here but the wind chill is below 0, so I know what you are talking about!
Take care!
Fran

I have been sewing all morning so I can chat the night away. I hope to have a block or two finished from my "scrap" quilt to show off later. :O)

*HI* Ya ((Ladies))
I just can't get it together today.
I've been practising machine quilting for my QT border.
Then I lost interest in doing that.
Was looking through all my QIAD books and through my fabric and just can't get inspired.

I fell asleep taking a nap instead of getting inspired.

The 'boys' are still out on the patio playing their game.

Hey, Tul.....don't you just hate days like that? I've been there & done that, too. So, the Chargers will be based in Chula Vista next season? That should bring some $$ to the local area. They said the championship game here is going to bring in close to $5 million. I know that hotels doubled their price & most have a 2 night minimum. Some locals have even rented out rooms in their homes & their RV's. I won't go that far!! Good luck to the Chargers tomorrow....I'd love to see them win. As far as the Giants go, well, that's another story.

Hi Fran.......are you staying warm?
Howdy MAW!!

Hi Gals--

I'm still cooking dinner. I'm carmelizing onions--takes forever but the end result is always worth it.

Tul, you didn't go to the show today? Is it tomorrow too? Or just skip it & save your $ for Paducah?

Fran, I hope you are feeling better now

GP, you go girl!

Carin, I wanna see pics of your scrappy stuff

Thouhgt I'd settle in and blab for awhile

GP: I started on my French Roses today. They sure go fast.

Fran: Hope you're feeling better. I had drug reaction and few years agt. Felt worse after I started taking the meds than I did before I went to the dr.

tulpje: Maybe you did too much housecleaning yesterday. You know it makes us ugly. I have a figurine in my kitchen it say,"Cookin' makes you ugly". Her clothes are all frumpy, socks are streched and down around her ankles, hair a standing on end, and poor thing has the most perplexed look on her face. I like to cook, guess that's why I'm so ugly.

Maw: Do you like scrapy quilts? My favorite

Me: Yes it's cold. Weather forecast said it would be 11 here in the morning. It's always colder than they say.
