Re: Never enough catalogs
My quilter friends put me onto Connecting Threads....They love their Threads....and, one friend really likes their Essentials thread. I am going to order some and try it. Their prices are good .....

I have ordered the Essentials thread from Connecting Threads and had excellent results. My machine doesn't like Coats & Clark...breaks non-stop but does great with the Essentials.

Hello Friends,
I am going to order some thread from Connecting Threads today. I do not like the Coats and Clarks, I use to use it, but they have made a change and even the colors are not as nice anymore.
Will let you know when I receive it.

I have a lot of C&C thread and I agree, it seems it has changed recently. I bought 3 diff. spools and it tends to fray and break. I will not be buying it anymore.

Re: Never enough catalogs
It took me a while to figure out it was the thread!! I always assume when something goes wrong it must be my mistake. Then I say some posts about C & C--and my dimly lit light bulb began to burn brighter!!!
I have noticed the colors are different, and what's with the breakage. Are they making it in China????
Will give Connecting Threads a try. Thanks for sharing the info.

I got my spring Keepsake Quilting catalog yesterday. I glanced thru it when I got in bed last night. I saw some table runner patterns that I might order. The fabrics are gorgeous.

Re: Never enough catalogs
I use Aurifil thread and never had any trouble with it. Very, very lint which is great. They have a great range of colors and it's a fine thread which means there's more on the bobbin and it sure goes a long way before have to refill it. It costs a little more than other threads but it certainly goes further.

Re: Never enough catalogs
I've become a recent convert to Aurifil thread, too. The spool costs a little more, but it lasts a LONG time, so I'm pretty much convinced that it isn't more expensive. However, I can only find it one place locally, and they only have 6 colors - 2 tans, 2 grays, white and black. Anybody know a good place to order it - (until QIAD starts to carry it!)?
