Granddaughter's First Pieced Quilt

Post by grammy65 » Thu Jan 17, 2008 4:12 am

Well, I finally got my 8-year old granddaughter's quilt quilted. It was her first piecing. She saw the purple minkee I had and really wanted that for the backing. I'm not too crazy about the border fabric, but that was what she wanted.

I think that border is great for a little girl's quilt! So girly with the purple backing.

Very pretty, she did a great job with the piecing, and the quilting is wonderful. She'll treasure this for a long time, her first work with grandma! thanks for sharing. carol/kittyquilt

I love their little minds. They aren't all cluttered up by rules!!! She just sits down and does her thing.

That is so neat. She did a good job. So glad she's learning how to sew/quilt. She's a cutie.

SHE IS ONLY 8. WOW. My DD just turned 7 and wants to do more but I think I am holding her back. How big are the squares? You have given me a wonderful idea for Becca to work on with her machine.
