My favorite charity

Post by calicopuzzle » Sat Jan 05, 2008 12:51 pm

I have been making and donating baby quilts to the Life Care Center in Superior, WI for several years....they are a crisis pregnancy center. Counseling for adoption, parenting and general help for women with an unwanted pregnancy...the quilts go to layettes that are given to new mothers upon the birth of their babies. I just finished these up this afternoon and thought I would post a picture for you to see. There are crisis pregnancy centers all over the U.S. if you are looking for a fun mission of making quilts for another good cause....they take baby clothing & diaper donations also among other items.

Very cute (for the boy quilts) & pretty (for the girls) quilts. I like the quilting on them. Do you free motion quilt on your machine? What a great charity & so very nice of you to do it for them.

Those are so cute! We have something similar here where our church packages layette kits that are sent to countrys all over the world to people that have nothing when they give birth, in some countrys they wrap the baby in newspaper so the church delivers the layette kits that have a blanket, baby nightgown, booties, baby hat, washcloth, baby soap and I am not sure what else.
It is amazing to go and help to package this stuff you can just feel the love of God going into each of the little care packages. I think of all the baby stuff I had even for my first when we where poor and first married compared to haveing them hand you a baby wrapped in news paper.
You do good work.
God bless you for it!
