need help on an 'easy' block
Hi all,
I want to make a block from Marcia Hohn's site but I have stupid question. Her site says the block is 12". Here's the block in question http://www.quilterscache.com/T/TwistBlo ... Block.html
I would like to make a 12.5 inch block so that finished it's 12".
How much should I adjust the size of each rectangle in the block?
Thanks,
dawne

The pattern is for a 12" finished block. You don't have to adjust anything.
What are you using it for? I'd love a photo when you get it made.

I looked at the photos on that website and I really like the one Betty made!
This would make a great I Spy quilt! Hmm, I wonder how it would look with a different color on each side. Would it look woven, maybe.

CUTE BLOCK THIS WOULD BE A GOOD I SPY QUILT SQUARE (oops sorry about the caps)
this would be 12" when finished I started making a "test" square with contrasting solids prior to making a square with my real fabric. This way I am sure of the size prior to cutting my expensive fabric. I will eventually have enough to make a quilt of test squares.

susnsup,
Thanks for the clarification. I thought there was a chance that her measurements are given as finished. I had hoped it was true!!
This will be my contribution for Danny's quilt. I waited until I got all the blocks sent to me before choosing my block and colours. I wanted to see what came in, how they worked together and what I could add that would blend but be different.
This block that we're talking about it one of my top choices. I'll have to make them all and choose or use them all or whatever works for the quilt.

All of Marcia's blocks are always FINISHED size. In other words, when it's pieced into the quilt, what size is the block then? So, a 12.5" blocks is 12" finished. Amie

Sunsup,
You can see the TWIST block here http://womanlythings.blogspot.com/searc ... abel/dawne It measured 12" unfinished. I don't know what happened. I put a border around the block to make it 12.5". next time I'll add 1/4" to each piece of the block and see what I get.
If you click to enlarge the photo you can see the maple leaf fabric. I just love it. It's from Robert Kaufman's line and I think the colours are so warm.
I wish now that I had bought enough for me to have some!! I got the fabric in PA so I'm sort of out of luck now. LOL
