Scraps

Post by bland50 »

I decided to cut up all the scraps that I keep in a basket . I cut them into 2 1/2" strips, 2" strips and pieces for crazy quilts. I have decided to make the 2 1/2" strips into Twin Sisters quilts. Well I have been sewing the strips together and when I counted them I enough to make at least 8 lap size quilts. This not counting the 2" strips or the crazy quilts pieces which I should be able to get at least 4 or 5 quilts out of these pieces. I remember tell my daughter in law that the was at least five quilts in that basket, little did I know. I plan to give all these quilts to Project Linus next year. So my advice to all you new quilters don't throw anything a way. There is a quilt for every scrap.

You go girl!! Liberating isn't it! I did this same thing last week, very therapuetic indeed. After I cut everything into 5" or 2.5" strips, I found a post about making chenille from uglies, too late! Amie :o)

Hi Kay, I believe it's in the Still Stripping book, using 5" charms, I think. Amie

The Twin Sisters quilt is in the Quilts Through the Seasons book - and is made of mostly 2 1/2" strips! Easy and really beautiful. Hope you'll try one, Kay!
