pin weaving

Post by sunny1 » Fri Nov 23, 2007 5:54 pm

Hi,
I was recently shown a table runner that was pin woven in the center and also quilted on the outer edges. has anyone out there seen a pattern like this? The inside was woven out of fabric tubes.

Pin weaving has been around for some time. You buy a little gaget that the material goes through as you iron it. Then, you use a long plastic flat needle(that does not look like a needle) and weave and pin, weave and pin. There are many steps to this procedure, looks great, fun, time consuming, and hanging in the closet now. I made several vests to go with some story telling I was doing in the classroom. The theme of the vest went with the story. You can make many things with it. But, I would rather quilt now and use the fabric for this. You might be able to find patterns for it somewhere.
