I was visiting my daughter, and was telling her about it; and my oldest grandaughter was 'listening'. She was 6 at the time. I showed my daughter the top block - which had 13 hearts that represented our 13 members. The bottom block was my interpretation of a hand and heart. My granddaughter showed me a picture of her hand with a heart ring and a heart bracelet. That's the middle block. I added a circle of hearts around her hand.
Also, I have a label on the back: Kayla's first design quilt block.
And, I made a pocket holder in the back and added her original picture.
This is one of Kayla's gifts for Christmas. I also made her a quilt.
