Beware of the Jo-ann's batting. My local Jo-anns just did a remodel & they dropped Hobbs batting & replaced it with Fairfield.
DO NOT BUY THIS!! It is the absolute worst batting I have every used!!!!!!!
It sheds, it balls up, it leaves pieces like lint on the fabric wherever it touches and leave your sewing machine full of yuck!!!
The only thing I can say about it, is that it doesn't resist a needle!
I won't be buying anymore from Jo-ann's. They have a corn and bamboo batting (twice the price). Has anybody tried these? A LQS owner said the corn one was at market, but she hadn't used it yet.

At the Houston Quilt Show they were handing out 5" sq. of bamboo batting. It felt pretty nice but I didn't price it - was in a hurry at the time.

If you went back to quilt the border, you'd notice that the ripples will disappear. Areas of no or lighter quilting will not lie as flat if there is heavier quilting next to it.
