Hi Caroline - these are instructions that naniyosie Posted - hope they help

I have a pattern that I find very easy - pillowcases for dummies!!!
Pillowcases with no exposed seams!!
3/4 yard for body
2" strip for accent
11" strip for cuff
For travel size pillowcase: 15x26 for body; 2x26 for the accent; and 8x26 for the cuff.
Do not prewash fabric
Fold the 2" strip in half, wrong sides together, and press.
Now, this section will sound crazy; just follow the instructions very literally until you reach the ***s. If you don't say "oh, I get it!" when you get there, you probably did it wrong:
1. Lay the 11" (8" travel) cuff strip right side up on your work table.
2. Put the 2" accent strip on top of it, raw edges together on the top side.
3. Put a few pins to hold in place.
4. Lay the main body fabric on top, right side down, matching raw edges. Add more pins.
5. Reach underneath the body fabric to get the bottom raw edge of the cuff fabric. Scrunch the body fabric together so that you can bring that raw edge around and pin it to all the other raw edges. You should have the wrong side of the cuff fabric on the outside, with the accent and body fabric stuffed inside them.
6. ***Okay, did you get it?
Sew that seam through all five layers.
Pull the body fabric out of the cuff, turning the cuff "tube" right side out. Press cuff and accent flat.
Trim selvedge edges of body and cuff.
With wrong sides together, sew a SCANT 1/4 seam on the bottom and end of the pillowcase. Press seam. Trim any loose threads.
Turn pillowcase wrong side out. Sew a GENEROUS 1/4 seam on bottom and end, so that the first seam is enclosed. Turn right side out.
Wash before using!

Re: Pillow cases...
Make your pillow case and stitch side(s) and bottom leaving the top open.
Make your cuff double the depth you want it to be. Stitch it into a tube making sure that the circle is the same size as the top of the pillow case. Press under a small hem on one edge
Stitch the other edge of cuff right sides together on to the pillow case
Turn the cuff to the inside and fold down to the seam line and stitch down. You can also stitch right side of cuff to inside of pillow case and fold over to the front and that way you make a feature of the stitching.
Hope this gives you a clue.

Re: Pillow cases...
Here is the pattern Linda posted for making pillowcases for the vet's hospital. It is really easy and the directions make it easy to sew and the seams are covered. Going to TRY to send pic of some I made. Even without the picture, the directions are really good. PM me if you have more questions. carol/kittyquilt
Sleepy Time Pillowcase
Fabric Requirements
3/4 yard Main Fabric
1/4 yard Border Band
2" Accent Strip
Cutting
Main Fabric: Pillowcase body: 27" x 41" (Trim Selvage ends only)
Border Band: 9" x 41"
Accent Band: 2" x 41"
Construction
Sew the seams with your serger if you have one, otherwise use a French Seam. To make a French Seam, place fabrics wrong sides together and sew a 1/8” seam. Turn and press on seam with right sides together, then sew a 3/8” seam. This will encase the raw edge and give a nice finish to the inside of the case.
Press accent strip in half lengthwise, wrong sides together. Pin the folded strip to the right side of body along one 41” side, raw edges matching and sew through all layers 1/4” from edge. If your main fabric is directional, please consider which end is “up!”
Sew the side seam with serger or French Seam. Sew the bottom with serger or French Seam.
Sew the short sides of the ban right sides together with a 1/4” seam, forming a circle.
Pin the right side of the band to the wrong side of the case and sew with a 1/4” seam.
Turn under raw edge 1/2” and press. Turn to right side of case and align folded edge over top of previous stitching. Top stitch in place.

and make sure the video is: Quilt Block of the Month #2
She demonstrates how to do half-square triangles, then she shows how to make a pillowcase.

Re: Pillow cases...
Look at the last post on my instructions for seamless pillow cases.
You sew 5 layers at one time - it's a real time saver.
I find this pattern the easiest of all the ones I have tried.
Also, notice the measurements for a travel pillow.

Re: Pillow cases...
I made 4 pillowcases as instructed below. They are fast and easy. On the border band you have to measure your pillowcase and cut a little off the border band for it to fit. I made each of my 4 gransons one for Christmas. They are fun.

Re: Pillow cases...
Hi Caroline and others,
I just wanted to share an idea I've used for making some of my pillowcases. Block Party Studios sells pre-printed fabric for a variety of projects, covering a myriad of occasions and themes. I purchased some with selected Scriptures from Psalms and incorporated them into my pillow cases.

These two pillowcases were my first try at anything like this. I'm thinking of making some more for Christmas presents.
Here is the link to the above site so you can peruse their offerings:

Of course they have some just for quilters, too.
Happy quilting,
Karla
Edited to add: Please refer to my next post for the pictures, thanks.
