Hi maryq and fatcat! Bev, that was sweet to let the kiddos chat with us! They were so cute! And kadie, that was great of you to post the pics of the critters, I know the kids enjoyed seeing them so much....and you got to make me nervous all at the same time! ROFLOL!!! Seriously, that was cute of you to do that for them.

Well, going to see if I can get one pillowcase sewn togehter, then I'll pop back in...with either requests for help - or - doing the happy dance! LOL!

GP a/k/a Madame President...........I love the pictures of you and the Princess with your quilts, they are priceless. When your back is turned, I think Daisy wants to bury the boa in the backyard under the acorns. She didn't look too thilled with it! lol

Well, I got my rows of blocks put together from the Christmas block swap. On my way to put together a Christmas lap quilt for the holidays. I will cut out The rest of the lattice strips and cornerstones to sew the rows together sometime tomorrow.

I guess its off to bed with me. It is not that late but I have been slightly under the weather today (sinus problems) and I feel very tired. It was fun reading all the posts and getting the incentive to start working on this lap quilt.

Nadine that is so very kind & loving for you & your DH to have the kids once a month!!! The world needs more people like you.

This has been a lot of fun on here tonight. Inspiring. Wish I was at home with my fabric & sewing machine. I am fired up after reading about what all you gals are doing.

My DDIL is a case manager at the lg Childrens hosp. in Ok. City. She is over the Neo-Natal unit. I am going to see what she thinks about me making the new babies that go home a small quilt. I feel compelled to do for that unit @ the Hosp. Our LQS does them for the older kids in for Cancer, Leukemia, etc. Being in touch with the Social Workers and Foster Care over the last 6 yrs. that area is pretty much covered with little ones getting a new blankie when taken into DHS custody. The PD gives out Bears to the kids they take from homes. But the Neo-Natal Unit has nothing in place. They have a Vol. program where you can go in and be a Rocker. Rock the little bitty new babies that have parents long distance. That is fullfilling yet so sad. My nerves won't take that anymore. Well enough of this ramble.

Jennie,
I LOVE winter and HATE summer, yet live in one of the hottest parts of our state. We often get up around the 47/49C which I think interprets to 116-120F. Hubby does much better in the heat. The cold weather knocks him around too much

I think I am to late to chat, most of you have already gone to bed. DH & I just got home. We took our son out to celebrate his birthday. We all had a great time.

????? Has any of our forum friends from Montana checked in. I just learned tonight that they have a forest fire going on there. It is not to far from Big Springs I believe.?????
