Re: new round robin for spring
Well, gals I actually went down in my sewing room tonite and did a "practice medallion" It sure doesn't look your's, GP's or Q-Linda! WOW those are something else. The only thing I have come up with so far, is using the main block from the Pink Lemonade pattern and some Fabric I have (remember all the Bed of Roses fabric I bought Linda?)
I'm not sure I like it all thta much, haven't finished pieceing it yet and as I said, it's a practice one.. I'm hoping the really good idea will just HIT me and that it will turn out wonderful. I also have a lot of some other fabric, I think it was "Flutterbys"? maybe.. Might try something with that too... or some really darling 30's fabric that a dear friend sent me!
I'm mostly hoping that will be able to do a good job on everybody's borders... I'm not much of an "appliquer" so I don't know if I'd be able to pull off something like that... but I'll sure do my best for my group!

Mary, I thought we were supposed to do applique on the medallions, otherwise I would've pieced something! LOL! But, it got me to try something I haven't done much of, so that's good! If you do the fusible-turn applique, don't do what I did...on the yellow tulip I sewed directly on the drawn line and when I turned it some of the dark line showed around the tulip! Sew just inside that line and it doesn't show! Here's my story and I'm sticking to it: that dark around the yellow tulip is just some dirt clinging to it from when it pushed up thru the ground! See, I wanted my medallion to look REAL!, so I didn't brush the dirt off! ROFLOL!!!

GP, your center is beautiful, great job! Mary, your gonna laugh when you get mine. I will be be ready to send it to you pretty soon. I decided to do Carol Armstrong's - A Gathered Garden. I made dimensional flowers using yo-yo's and beads and handmade petals, tucked into a basket that I am making today. I need to buy some floral wire today to secure my beads, yo-yo's and petals. When you see how off the wall this is, you will feel MUCH better about your center, lol! Your name is below mine, so it's up to you then! Amie

I got the madallion from QIAD Linda today! It is even more beautiful in person then in the picture! She did a great job, I hope I can o it justice, esp since I only have the rest of today and tomorrow to do it so it's off to the next person before my surgery. I hope I can do it.

Re: new round robin for spring
The birds I did earlier were really due to lack of any ideas or inspiration but after seeing everyone's beautiful flowers I have been inspired to redo mine. Like I said before, I already have a wallhanging with birds that was made in last years spring round robin, I would really like something different. I already have picked out a pattern and I should be done by the weekend so that I can get it out in the mail.
