I love that Chiclets pattern! It would be a lot of fun to make. And be just gorgeous too! Very good way to use sm. pcs from a stash.

I don't have a scrap basket. I have a pitiful little pile of scraps. I don't know why I don't have more, except I tend to use them in block of the month blocks for guild and orphan blocks and hot pads, etc. But I agree, if you have enough, it's like free fabric for a quilt.

I made a quilt with my repo scraps and muslin I had on hand. My goal is to try and use up some of my fabric this year. Of course making room for the new lines coming out. lol Lori

I'm also doing Claudia's Simple Scrappy Treasures and I see that the March block directions are up already.

Hey, I'm doing the Claudias BOM also. Thanks for the heads up on the March block. I usually don't check until the first day of each month.

The weather was beautiful today and with the time change I had time to get out and hang my quilts. Here's the latest from my stash.

It's from the QID Tossed 9-patch pattern. I used fabric left over from my 'No Blue Geese in my Tropical Garden'. The blue squares are from the setting material for the Thanges BOM. So technically the blue is new, but it was not purchased specifically for this quilt.
I like this size, so i'll just bind it either in the blue or in bright orange. I haven't decided. I guess it depends on what I use for the backing.

I just spoke to my youngest. She said she'd help me "tame my scraps" this weekend. Now, the question is where to start? Ms. El uses strips in almost all of her quilts. What is the most common size strip that she uses? 1 1/2 or 2 1/2? I think I'll start there then go onto squares (charms!) and bricks (for geese).

Congratulations on getting some help taming your scraps. I've got plastic shoe boxes partially full. But then I've got a 3 gallong popcorn tin, a 9 x 12 gift bag and a 28 qt bin full of 'scraps'. butI think if I enlisted my DH, he would be chucking them all. So, a little bit at a time I'll work on them following Bonnie Hunter's method. http://quiltville.com/scrapusersystem.s ... stem.shtml
