Beautiful quilt. I don't think I could do a y seam block let alone a LS.

Geneva

That quilt is gorgeous. I still have trouble with straight seams never mind Y seams!!! I do so love that window pattern and when I get brave some day I may try it.

Beachrose.... Welcome to the wackiest group of quilting friends you will ever meet!!! OMG.... You will have a wonderful time here. Take it from me, you'll soon become as addicted to this group as any of us are to fabric!

Maryq - there is a way to make the windows without using the "Y" seam. You make HSTs and use them in the corners where the two dark fabrics meet. Someone on this forum put the instructions on here a LONG time ago and I printed them out. Want me to find them for you?

I've used the HST and it works beautifully. I had stayed away from the attic window pattern and someone here posted a pic using it and I went and did it. Nice pattern and didn't take too long. I'll post a pic a little later.

This was made with the HST in the corners. Cut sqares the size of your border + 7/8 inch.
