Cindy, Sunsup/Sandy, and Loretta, thanks so much for your good thoughts and concern! It's been a couple stressful days, but the fire has retreated from our area and we were never called to evacuate. Being able to stay home has been a huge blessing for us, despite having to keep the windows closed in this warm weather.

I keep thinking that the coming days will be so full of heartache for so many...keep those who lost homes in your prayers.

CaroleJ, I'm so glad you were able to stay in your home and that you are safe. I won't rest easy, though, until all the fires are out. I want all of our girls back in their homes safe and sound! What a stressful time for all of you in So. CA.

CindyB, Oh BRRR! Just saw your note about the 32 degree temps--it was 92 here yesterday, 83 today...supposed to drop again into the high 70's tomorrow...autumn in San Diego (when we are not on fire) is glorious.

If I send you some warmth, can y'all in Iowa send us some RAIN?

Carole, I would be more than happy to send you some nice, gentle rain!

Our fields are wet, and farmers are having a hard time getting all the crops in! (the corn won't be as good after it freezes - it sucks all the sugar out of the corn!)

Way to go Mary!

I'll take some rain too, please. There wasn't enough rain for the corn to fill out the ears this year.

Mary, post a photo when you get a chance. You are on a roll girl. I'll try to catch up when I get back from Houston.
