Quilting Paper
I read an article about using quilting paper. I have looked at it on the internet and it sounds like it would be a great addition to my growing quilting notions stash.
Has anyone used it? If so, what is your opinion?
Thanks,
Jo Ann

Re: Quilting Paper
What is the "quilting paper" used for? The only time I use paper is when I am paper piecing and then I usually use plain old newsprint type of paper...thin and easy to tear..

Re: Quilting Paper
I buy the Hands On Scribble pad from Staples to use for paper piecing. I have used papers from Patchwork Place and it's good but much more expensive.
Update: I went to Staples today and the scribble paper is now $2 more than it was a few months ago! I use to be $3.79 for three pads now it's $5.79.

The quilting paper is used to trace the quilting pattern on then you don't have to mark the quilt. The paper is thin and easy to remove without disturbing the quilting stitches. Sounds great but probably too expensive.

I have used Glad Press and Seal for small wall hangings and it worked great.

I think the paper you mention is "Golden Threads" or something like that. It comes on a roll. You draw the pattern on the paper then pin the paper on the quilt and quilt on the drawn lines. I used it once and it worked well and the paper was easy to remove, but I don't remember what it cost.

Re: Quilting Paper
I purchased paper on a roll called "stitch in the ditch" today at the sewing machine store. It was on sale, as most everything was for some big weekend sale. I am anxious to see if it as great as I read.
